EU Conference on RRA reform (CeRRA)
Let's shape the Future of Research Assessment
As part of Denmark's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Aalborg University together with international partners is hosting a conference on reformning research assessment on December 3-4, 2025 at Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center in Copenhagen. The conference is supported by the European Commission.
In today's knowledge economies, universities are expected to translate and disseminate research and innovation broadly, contributing to growth, competitiveness, better regulation, and quality of life. To stimulate the broader impact and uptake of research-based products and advice, incentives and metrics need to be aligned.
At this conference, the organizers together with the Danish Presidency and the European Commission will address the need for reforming research assessment, present progress on CoARA, and highlight drivers of change in the broader ecosystem of science, innovation, and technology.

9th World Conference on Research Integrity
Indigenous ways of being, Artificial Intelligence, and Research Security: shaping the future of research integrity
We invite you to join the 9th World Conference on Research Integrity (WCRI), which will be held from May 3 to 6, 2026, in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. The WCRI is open to all disciplines, all professional ranks, and all career stages, and involves all stakeholders in research integrity, including universities, research institutes, research funders, publishers, and governments. We aim to ensure the program will interest academics, practitioners and policy makers. The conference is lively and interactive, and the program consists of a mix of research findings, reflection and policy development. Previous WCRI conferences typically produce an influential policy statement such as the Singapore Statement, the Hong Kong Principles and the Cape Town Statement. The intention with WCRI 2026 is to do likewise.
WCRIs take a strong view on ethnic, gender, geographical, disciplinary and career stage diversity, and ensure that this is reflected in the program, the keynote speakers, the committee members, and the participants. We give special attention to early career professionals, and we organise a doctoral forum, workshops, and meet-the-expert sessions for them during the conference.
Each WCRI emphasizes specific themes, but all cater to the entire range of research integrity issues and responsible research practices. The Vancouver edition will highlight the following three themes.
- Artificial intelligence
- Research Security
- Indigenous Knowledge Systems

FOR 2026 Conference
The Future of Open Research: Reliable, Responsible, Equitable
This conference brings together scholars, activists, and policymakers to consider this challenging landscape and discuss the future of open research. Our goal is to facilitate the development of open research practices explicitly geared to serve the public interest, which involves interrogating what may constitute that ‘public interest’ to different audiences and in different locations around the world. A central element for our discussions will be the development of a Munich Manifesto for Equitable Open Research, detailing ways to utilise open research to foster reliable, responsible, and equitable forms of inquiry. A draft text of the manifesto will be circulated two weeks before the conference to all participants, and one session of the conference will be dedicated to discussing and finalising the declaration and its possible signatories.
We call for contributions by researchers across all fields of knowledge, including the arts and humanities, policy-makers interested in research and development, representatives of scholarly and commercial institutions involved in research, and civil society associations engaged in knowledge production. Themes may include, but are not be limited to:
- Contributions from the arts and humanities to represent open research in alternative formats
- Historical, philosophical, and social studies of open research and its implementation
- Ethics and research integrity in the context of open research
- Bibliometric and other data-intensive investigations of open research
- The use of AI in support of socially responsive and responsible forms of open research
- Legal perspectives on open research implementations across different settings
- Training and capacity building for responsive and responsible open research
- Infrastructures and tools supporting responsive and responsible open research
- Policy-making initiatives and recommendations for equitable open research

The 30th Annual STI-ENID conference
30th Annual International Conference on Science and Technology Indicators
The 30th Annual STI-ENID conference is themed “Indicators for Responsible Research Futures” and will be an opportunity to discuss how STI indicators can support responsible research and innovation (RRI), including diversity, inclusivity, openness and sustainability. With an uncertain future in mind, how can indicators align with societal values and long-term goals? And how can indicators capture evolving patterns of cooperation, competition, and knowledge flows, while fostering equitable collaboration in an era of global geopolitical tensions.
We are happy to welcome the STI-ENID community in Antwerp in September 2026. The conference is hosted by the ECOOM teams of the University of Antwerp, the Free University of Brussels and KU Leuven.
