Making and doing transformation 

As governments and funding agencies increasingly demand alignment with Sustainable Development Goals, STS scholars grapple with the tension between societal expectations and the transformative potential of their research. Rather than offering predetermined solutions, scholars are encouraged to reframe problem spaces through empirical analyses and innovative practices. Key questions will be addressed, such as how to frame transformations within STS frameworks, avoid co-optation and technosolutionism, and foster collaboration between STS and other disciplines.

This conference embraces diverse topics within STS, including speculative ethics, governance of science and technology, decolonial scholarship, and innovation studies. Join us for stimulating conversations and explore new avenues for mobilizing STS sensibilities in addressing global challenges.
