Community voices in Research Assessment: insights from the SSH Pilot

12 November 2025, 14:55-15:15

Carol Delmazo, OPERAS Research Infrastructure

The GraspOS Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) pilot, led by OPERAS Research Infrastructure, offers a case study of scientific domain reform through co-creation. It gathered essential data, articulated domain-specific requirements, and acted as a living laboratory for testing the GraspOS Federated Open Infrastructure and the SCOPE+i Framework. This presentation traces the pilot's journey. Guided by the SCOPE Framework's principle “Evaluate with the evaluated,” the SSH Pilot used a Community of Practice and a series of workshops to involve the community in identifying what outputs, activities, and processes should be valued in research assessment. This co-creation process also included a collaborative evaluation of a Narrative CV template tailored to SSH. Finally, the guidance and recommendations resulting from the SSH Pilot were also validated by the community in a final workshop.  This approach gave the SSH community a real voice and contributed to reinforcing a sense of ownership.
